In this context, the <strong>port of Algeciras<\/strong>, the sixth most influential enclave in the transport of goods in southern Europe, has renewed and strengthened its alliance with the <strong>port of Ningbo<\/strong>, in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This collaboration, supported by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apba.es\/en\">Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras<\/a>, is a reflection of the importance of working together to optimize routes and adapt to the demands of a constantly changing sector. In addition, it directly benefits the logistics companies located in the port of Algeciras. A prime example is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samalgeciras.com\/en\/\">SAM Algeciras<\/a>, which has more than <strong>120,000 m\u00b2 of facilities<\/strong> strategically located near the<strong> main land, rail and sea connections<\/strong> that link southern Spain with the rest of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trade relations between Algeciras and China<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, the <strong>port of Algeciras<\/strong> has consolidated its strategic relevance in the transport of goods, especially after the blockage of the Suez Canal, which has increased the importance of the <strong>Strait of Gibraltar<\/strong> as a key node in the trade routes between Asia and Europe. In a way, the opportunities offered by this situation are being taken advantage of to develop the port&#8217;s capabilities to the maximum and strengthen collaboration with other Asian ports such as <strong>Beijing, Shanghai, Yaxin and Ningbo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Likewise, Andalusia, in its role as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samalgeciras.com\/en\/about-us\/\">key distribution platform<\/a> for Southern Europe, North Africa and Latin America, seeks to integrate significantly into the new <strong>Silk Road<\/strong>. In this context, the Algeciras enclave is working to ensure that the <strong>connection between Asia and Europe<\/strong> is viable, with a focus on modernizing infrastructures and adapting to the <strong>new fuels<\/strong> necessary for the transition of shipping companies towards more sustainable operations. In this way, it is presented as a key logistics platform for China&#8217;s strategic markets, with ships from ports such as Ningbo calling at Algeciras almost daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Green maritime corridors<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In line with optimizing connectivity, these partnerships also focus on the development of <strong>green maritime corridors<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samalgeciras.com\/en\/quality-and-environment\/#sec-politica-calidad\">Sustainability<\/a> has become a global priority, and both ports are committed to reducing the environmental impact of their operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main initiatives proposed in terms of sustainable development for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samalgeciras.com\/en\/contact\/\">port of Algeciras<\/a> include the use of clean fuels and the improvement of energy efficiency.
