Servicios Auxiliares Marítimos Algeciras (SAM Algeciras) expands its services and activities by obtaining the Sanitary Registration Number, which provides the capacity to handle and store all types of food products. Until now, the facilities were authorized to work with refrigerated and frozen products. Now, it extends its activity to handling dry food.
SAM Algeciras, multimodal logistic platform of the Alonso Group, has just been recognized as a multipurpose warehouse after a thorough inspection of its facilities carried out by the ‘Consejería de Salud de la Junta de Andalucía’.
The approval by the health institution, gives the facilities the capacity to develop activities of manipulation, storage and distribution of all types of food-based goods.
The ‘Consejería de Salud’ has given approval to SAM Algeciras facilities by observing the full compliance with all the requirements established in the legislation on food safety and environmental sanitation: cleanliness, physical separation, adequate material, qualified personnel, among others special requirements.
SAM Algeciras multipurpose warehouse for all kinds of food goods
The Sanitary Registration Number granted identifies SAM Algeciras facilities as a multipurpose warehouse with capacity to work food without temperature control, in addition to refrigerated and frozen products. The legislation that regulates the Sanitary Register of Companies and Food Establishments provides for the mandatory registration in a register.
SAM Algeciras already had authorization to handle and store refrigerated and frozen perishable foods but requested its dry expansion in order to offer a greater number of possibilities to its customers.In this way, it can now also handle packaged products, as well as bulk nuts, dry soups, among many other food products.
